Welcome to the Stroke Innovations Lab; we use deep learning, human factors, simulation, and principles of quality improvement to improve stroke and neurologic care. Our small but mighty QI lab is focused on using real-world small datasets from clinical environments to better understand care models in stroke and neurologic care. Specifically we use voice as a biomarker to use voice change as a marker of dysphagia. In our "stroke resuscitation" project, we've innovatively applied Crisis Resource Management principles and simulations to refine the life-saving code stroke process. Through the Neurovascular Innovations CollaborativE (NICE), we're setting new standards for acute stroke treatment. We're also deeply committed to the humane aspect of medical care, advocating for the routine integration of palliative care in stroke treatment. We are testing voice as a biomarker in the palliative care setting as well. Through the 1stroke project, we aim to use LLMs to help standardize stroke care pathways.
